DESPERATE FOR HERCKE

Last night I sat down to build a bookcase that I bought at a local big box store. It was about 10pm by this point, but no big deal, because everything that I’ve put together at work hasn’t taken more than 20 minutes. I opened up the box, however, to find 9 different wood panels, over 240 pieces of hardware and a set of assembly instructions about 20 pages thick. I don’t think that I’ve ever appreciated Hercke more than last night at 2 am when I was finally heading to bed with a half-built bookcase sitting in the middle of my living room.

Hercke is seriously simple to assemble. One tool and a few minutes. No frustration, no stress. You can't beat that.

DECLUTTER AND DESTRESS

In a recent search for decluttering tips and tricks, I came across this fabulous article. (Here's the link: How to Declutter ) Check it out and remember that step one is decluttering, step two is organizing the important stuff. Hercke is here for you.

SUMMER SOLUTIONS

Summer has arrived, and if you have kids, that means baseball bats, soccer balls, knee pads, shin guards, roller skates, bicycle helmets, the list goes on and on… Your garage can become an obstacle course of epic proportions.

Enter Hercke, the garage storage superhero.

Your kids can stash all their stuff in our lower cabinets, and you can keep your gear up high and out of reach in our upper and overhead cabinets. They all lock, too, which means that you control who gets into what.

Imagine, driving home to a perfectly organized garage, having plenty of room to park your car, and carrying in the groceries without worrying about tripping over someone’s remote control car, or basketball, or baseball mitt…

PEACEFUL PRINTING

Here at Hercke headquarters, we each have our own favorite Hercke solution. Mine is our print station. It’s a 90” solution with two 30” lower cabinets and a set of drawers. Our printer takes up just 1/3 of the work surface, leaving me with loads of room to organize papers, staple, and bind.

The drawers are stocked with letterhead, copy paper, glossy paper, fancy paper, and laser paper. We use the cabinets to store even more paper, a healthy supply of toner, and other office supplies.

It may not seem like much, but the space to spread out makes my job much less chaotic and a lot more zen. Stay tuned for more Hercke favorites.

OUTSIDE THE NORM

Hercke brings it outside with style and substance. Sure we’re good around the house and in the office. Sure we can defeat the chaos and restore the order under any roof. But hopefully you aren’t living your life completely indoors. Hercke is weatherproof (of course, if a large oak lands on it, all bets are off) and ready to contain and organize all the gear of the great outdoors or your humble little porch. What kinds of things do you have lying around outside that could use a little Hercke? Send your ideas to getinspired@hercke.com.

EVEN THE INVITATION WAS A HIT

All the hardware around Hercke is not product. The September edition of Twin Cities Business named our launch party invitation The Best New Product Launch Invite. We couldn’t be happier for our stellar design firm, HartungKemp and especially those intimately involved with the big prize, Michelle Hyster, Mark Saunders, Mary Kemp and Stefan Hartung. Thanks for our first piece of triumphant, glistening hardware (okay, it might have been a paper certificate—still—hooray).

BLACK IS BACK (AND ON THE SIDES TOO)

One summer day in the Hercke HQ, Tom scratches his chin and decides that the cabinet bodies would look better in black. Not the cool, gunmetal gray we’ve all been anticipating seeing and anticipating loving—nope, “let’s go with black.”

I suppose that’s why Tom’s name is on the front door (well, the “Hercke” part of his name anyway)…black was the perfect call. We can’t imagine the product any other way
